Dr Mary Guy is an expert in national and EU health law and policy with a background in UK academia, and further professional experience as a Policy Advisor and Translator in the UK Civil Service. She is an English native speaker with professional fluency in French, German, and Dutch.
Mary is currently (since December 2025) a Research Fellow in the Centre for Health Policy & Management at Trinity College Dublin, working on implementation of Irish healthcare reforms (Sláintecare), and also health systems resilience on the RESTORE project.
Mary's research has been published in high-ranking generalist and specialist journals in Europe and the US (for example, the Northern Ireland Legal Quarterly, the Journal for Law, Medicine & Ethics, and the Journal of Health Politics, Policy, and Law). She has also presented at leading universities in the UK and Europe (such as LSE and Amsterdam).
Mary is regularly invited to present in the UK and abroad to both academic and policy audiences (including thinktanks and regulatory bodies), and her written evidence has been published by the UK Parliament Health and Social Care Committee, and cited by the Senedd Health and Social Care Committee.
Mary's professional experience has led her to develop a wide-ranging skillset, gained across a variety of professional roles, currently including Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin, Co-coordinator of EUHealthGov, an interdisciplinary research network; UK National Contact for the European Association of Health Law (EAHL); and previously Founder and Moderator of Health in Europe, a virtual seminar series.
